Government Relationships

Link government portfolios to metric categories to establish data relationships and track ministerial responsibility

Understanding Relationships

Category-Level Relationships (This Page)

Link portfolios to entire metric categories. This creates indirect relationships where:

  • All metrics in a category are related to the linked portfolios
  • Multiple portfolios can influence a single category
  • Useful for broad governmental oversight and responsibility tracking
  • Example: Economic category → Finance, Revenue, Commerce portfolios

Metric-Level Relationships (Metric Pages)

Each metric can also have a direct primary portfolio link:

  • One portfolio has the strongest/direct responsibility
  • Set via individual metric management pages
  • Useful for specific accountability and detailed tracking
  • Example: GDP to Debt metric → Finance portfolio (primary)

Combined Relationships

Metrics can have BOTH a primary portfolio (direct) AND category-based portfolios (indirect). This allows for both specific accountability and broader governmental context.
